Zachary Felton & Nick Glidewell
Zachary Felton is a 24-year-old from Southern California, an avid explorer who’s had the opportunity to travel to various parts of the world. On January 7th, 2018, Zachary left with three friends on a celebratory road trip to Vernal, Utah, stopping to explore Little Brush Creek Cave. In one tight area where they traversed over a void with their backs pressed against a ledge, Zachary’s foot slipped and he hit his head on the rock in front of him. Unconscious, he fell 80 feet; his body slamming against the rock walls until he met the ground.
When Zachary regained consciousness, he knew that he couldn’t move, but didn’t know that he had broken nearly 30 bones (many of them compound fractures), sustained a brain bleed, and a severely bruised lung. Zachary will speak in PrepperCon’s Survivor Talks series about his extraordinary experience, his 18 hour rescue, and how he was able to cheat death despite the odds. After more than a dozen surgeries, Zachary is determined to recover. Zachary’s family has set up a GoFundMe page to help them with the medical bills. Donations can be accepted HERE.
PrepperCon is proud to have Zachary as a speaker in our Survivor Talks series to share his experience. As he puts it, “This accident has knocked me down… only briefly.” Zach will be joined by his friend Nick Glidewell, Nick is a 34-year old adventure and outdoor enthusiast from Missouri, who refused to give up after his friend, Zach Felton, fell 80 feet inside Little Brush Creek Cave.
Nick had no idea upon entering the cave earlier that day with his three friends that in a matter of a few hours he would be putting his mind and body to the ultimate test. In Nick’s words, ” One minute we were laughing and having a great time and in the blink of an eye Zach’s life was on the line.”

Chief Christopher Howell
“Robbery in progress.Shots Fired!” St. Croix (Virgin Islands) Police Chief Christopher Howell, a 25 year law enforcement veteran and his partner, sped along a darkened mountainous road to try to intercept the robbery suspects. They passed a high speeding car and made a quick turnaround in pursuit. There seemed to be no sign of the car’s taillights until suddenly they appeared – the suspects’ car had crashed down a ravine. Howell parked the car unsuspecting of what was ahead. Suddenly, a muzzle flashed and Howell’s forearm exploded sending pieces of it throughout the patrol vehicle. Then another round tore through his driver’s side door, passing through his carseat and striking him in the back before shooting his partner, Jones in the face. Their Tahoe was dead. Dispatch only heard, “We’re hit!”.
The wounded and severely bleeding officers were in the depths of an ambush! Yet, Christopher Howell survived, but, how? PrepperCon welcomes Chief Howell as a guest in our Survivor Talks series where he’ll retell the account of his heroic survival and the steps he took to manage the mental and physical aspects of the crisis.

Kelly & Rich Turner
On the weekend of September 28th, 2017, Kelly and her husband Rich Turner traveled from their home in Southern California to Las Vegas with two friends to enjoy the Route 91 Country Harvest music festival on the strip. On Sunday night October 1st, they were up near the front of the stage watching Jason Aldean, one of their favorite artists perform. As the music blared, popping noises from behind confused the crowd as they expected to see fireworks. It soon became apparent however that the sound wasn’t pyrotechnics, but bullets instead. The couple was separated as Kelly hid under the riser they were sitting on. Rich eventually found his way back to Kelly where he shielded her and another woman who had been shot in the arm. The couple and their friends eventually fought their way to safety, experiencing the whole massacre from beginning to end.
Kelly and Rich will share their live changing story as speakers in our Survivor Talks series as survivors of the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history that killed 58 and injured 851. This is their first time publicly speaking about the event and PrepperCon is grateful for their courage to share their experience.
