“It’s not what happens to you, It’s what you do about it”
Zachary Felton is a 24-year-old from Southern California, an avid explorer who’s had the opportunity to travel to various parts of the world. On January 7th, 2018, Zachary left with three friends on a celebratory road trip to Vernal, Utah, stopping to explore Little Brush Creek Cave. In one tight area where they traversed over a void with their backs pressed against a ledge, Zachary’s foot slipped and he hit his head on the rock in front of him. Unconscious, he fell 80 feet; his body slamming against the rock walls until he met the ground.
When Zachary regained consciousness, he knew that he couldn’t move, but didn’t know that he had broken nearly 30 bones (many of them compound fractures), sustained a brain bleed, and a severely bruised lung. Zachary will speak about his extraordinary experience, his 18 hour rescue, and how he was able to cheat death despite the odds. After more than a dozen surgeries, Zachary is determined to recover. Zachary’s family has set up a GoFundMe page to help them with the medical bills. Donations can be accepted HERE.
PrepperCon is proud to have Zachary as a speaker in our Survivor Talks series to share his experience. As he puts it, “This accident has knocked me down… only briefly.”
